32nd edition of "Up'n Down the Bridges" to start from San Marco
The 32nd ‘Up 'n Down the Bridges’ walk has a special twist this year. On Saturday, 17th April, on the eve of the event, a special evening entitled ‘A Tribute to Venice at the Up 'n Down’ will take place in St Mark’s Square with literary readings, video and choral singing. There is also a novelty to this year’s typical Venetian walk founded by the late Salesian father, Don Berti, to whose memory a prize for participating schools is dedicated. This year there will be two routes competitors can take – one of 13 kilometres with 13 bridges, departing and arriving from St Mark’s Square; and the other of 6 kilometres with 26 bridges, reserved for participants from Nursey and Primary Schools, which will start at Santa Lucia Station and finish in Saint Mark’s Square. Departure time for both walks is at 10 am.
