A NEW BOOKSHOP OPENS IN ST MARK’S SQUARE

The St Mark’s area is being enriched by a new commercial and cultural centre. The Supernova Bookshop of the Supernova publishing house based at Lido, Venice, will open on Friday 15 March 2013 at the mouth of the Square near the Azienda di Promozione Turistica (APT). A toast is planned for the opening of the bookshop next Friday at 6 pm. Furthermore, a Supernova author will be presented every Friday between 6 and 7 pm. Supernova was founded in 1988, publishing a book of poetry (Fortune) by the American James Koller. A clear signal. Supernova focuses on poetry, publishes poetry, takes chances with poetry. Supernova has now broadened its interests, which have gradually settled around seven series: Art, Music, Fiction, Poetry, Essays, Theatre and Venice. Important publications have been produced thanks to cooperation with some cultural institutions. The Supernova catalogue currently numbers about 300 titles, many of which are still available.
