A NEW SHOPPING CENTRE WILL OPEN NEAR ST MARK’S SQUARE
The Venice City Council definitively approved the plan for the former Pilsen building late last night. This was actually a vote referring simply to ‘town planning adjustments’, as stated by the town planning executive Ezio Miceli. The building of about 1500 square metres, for years in a state of abandon, is in Bacino Orseolo a few steps from St Mark’s Square, so in a strategic historic area. It was bought some years ago for about 26 million euros by Piero Coin’s Mediterraneo Sviluppo srl. The former Pilsen building is to become a shopping centre offering various clothing labels and will be a prestigious one also because of its strategic location.
