EVENT IN NEW YORK TO RESTORE THE STATUES BY RIZZO IN THE DOGE’S PALACE

Venetian Heritage, the international non-profit organisation that is part of the Unesco-Private Committees for Safeguarding Venice programme, promoted a fundraiser yesterday at the Pershing Square Signature in New York with a tribute to Federico Fellini. The funds are to restore the captivating statues by Antonio Rizzo in the Doge’s Palace: Adam and Eve and a Warrior from the Foscari Arch. ‘Caro Federico’ is the title of the tribute to the great Italian film director, written by Ludovica Damiani and Guido Torlonia, which consists of a composite reading of the Romagnol director’s artistic skills by means of memories, interviews, letters and obviously film clips. Hostess for the evening was Isabella Rossellini, while Toto Bergamo Rossi, director of Venetian Heritage Onlus, expressed great satisfaction with the event in the pages of the Gazzettino.
