LUIS VUITTON ADVERT FILMED IN ST MARK’S SQUARE ON THE NIGHT OF FRIDAY 28 JUNE 2013

As already noted in a previous article, an advert of about 60 seconds for the Luis Vuitton ‘L’invitation au voyage’ campaign was filmed in St Mark’s Square on Friday night. It featured the ‘Luis Vuitton’ woman, the fashion model Arizona Muse, being lifted into the sky in a hot-air balloon. The advert cost more than 1,000,000 euros and was produced by the ‘360 degrees film’ production house based at Giudecca and coordinated by Venezia Marketing & Eventi. The advert had previously also been shot in the Louvre in Paris. The president of the Associazione Piazza San Marco Alberto Nardi made the following statement to the Gazzettino journalist Daniela Ghio on this: ‘It was not a disruptive event, it lasted only one night and the structure was quickly dismantled. Regarding all the events that gravitate around the square, we would like to ask the mayor Giorgio Orsoni and the director general Agostini to set up a fund for the maintenance of St Mark’s Square as soon as possible, transferring a small percentage of the advertising revenues to it’.
