THE GUARDI EXHIBITION CAN ALSO BE VISITED DURING CARNIVAL 2013

Given the success and the high number of visitors, the ‘Francesco Guardi (1712 – 1793)’ exhibition currently on at the Correr Museum in St Mark’s Square has been extended to 17 February 2013. This is an important cultural decision that will give all residents and visitors to the forthcoming Venice Carnival 2013 a chance to visit this prestigious exhibition. ‘The exhibition, under the scientific direction of Gabriella Belli, follows all the main stages of the artistic production of one of the last great masters of Venetian painting, with a richness of loans never before seen. 121 paintings and drawings chosen for their particular quality and historical value are presented in an itinerary that is both chronological and thematic. It retraces the development of Francesco Guardi’s artistic career, while also documenting the various genres the great artist tried his hand at throughout his life.’
